The "Saguaro Canyon" retreat was completely reimagined and renovated in 2023 and is nestled in a peaceful, lush 1.5-acre canyon in Paradise Valley, Arizona, an exclusive enclave in the middle of Phoenix|Scottsdale, yet just minutes from 6 golf courses, and 3 hiking trails. If you plan to visit for restoration and relaxation, this is the ideal spot to restore and recharge; if, however, your plans for the house involve party decorations, balloon arches, drinking games, or 3 a.m. pool parties, this is definitely not the place for you.
As you drive into your own private resort, you'll be greeted by a stunning specimen of the Saguaro cactus, or the "Queen of the Desert." This beauty proudly displays 6 arms (home to numerous families of cactus wrens) and is easily more than 100 years old. If you look up into the mountains in all directions, you'll notice the presence of hundreds more of these desert beauties. As you move through the double doors into the private front courtyard, you'll notice subtle Japanese design queues in both the lush landscaping and architectural details. Professionally decorated with cool tones and Scandinavian simplicity, each rooms boasts views of the surrounding desert scenery and plants. The main floor features a gym/lounge/office complete with dedicated workspace, home gym with Peloton® (with regular gym shoes adaptor so no need to wear riding shoes), free weights, straps, kettle balls and yoga mats, and a lounge area with board games; a massive dining table with seating for 10; a full kitchen with gas range, breakfast table and attached full laundry room; a living room with bar and stone fireplace; a double-Queen bedroom with private walled outdoor living room and outdoor shower and en-suite bathroom with shower; and 2 King bedrooms each of which share a full bathroom with tub/shower combination. The second-floor master bedroom features a private view terrace, King bed, walk-in closets and a spa-like en-suite bathroom with soaking tub and separate shower. The professionally landscaped grounds feature a shaded outdoor living room with views of the pool, canyon and city lights; a dining table with seating for 8 and an outdoor kitchen with gas grill, cooktop and refrigerator. Perched above the wash with a young Saguaro overhead, the heated pool (available for an extra fee of $95/night) boasts plenty of lounge seating and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The grounds also feature a real grass play area (and corn hole), and a wide array of plantings that showcase the range of color, beauty and adaptation of native Sonoran plants. And should you wish to leave the confines of the retreat, there are countless eateries, cocktail bars and entertainment just a few minutes' drive away in the Biltmore and Arcadia areas, or in Scottsdale.
Pool heating is available for an additional $95/day, which will give you a guaranteed 84 degree water temperature. Since we have a high-output gas heater, we can heat the pool 24/7 whereas heat-pump water heaters do not operate at night when the air temperatures drop below 40. We also offer professional chef, as well as on-site massage and private yoga instructor services through several preferred partners. Chef Trenita is professionally trained and can do everything from a curated meal for two prepared on site, to meal delivery. Sebastian, our masseuse, is expert at deep tissue massage and restorative treatments and can set up inside, or outdoors. And Shawnee can guide you through a restorative yoga class anywhere on the grounds. This property is stunning! Nestled in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful views. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to prepare meals. Our friends who joined us for the long weekend get away raved about how awesome the property was and a place we would look to stay again in the future. All rooms were amazing and the primary suite upstairs was expansive and fabulous. Kara’s recommendation for Sebastian, a massage therapist, to schedule in home massage sessions for guests looking to unwind was a great one and would also highly recommend.
Kara took time to deliver precise instructions on how to enter the property and greatly appreciated screen shots with instructions for the lock box and was very easy checking in.

What a wonderful place to gather for a girls' weekend! The house was gorgeous, clean and well appointed. The beds were super comfortable and the place had plenty of space to enjoy: the workout room, the lawn for corn hole, the pool and several dining areas inside and one outside. Really pretty views on the back patio. We would definitely return to this gem. We did have a few issues come up and after discussing them with Adrian, he was respectful and responsive in getting our needs met. All in all, it's a great spot for group. I highly recommend!

The house is exactly like the pictures. It was very open and welcoming. It literally was a resort home away from home. It had everything we needed. It was in a beautiful and great location. The scenic views were breath taking.
The house was super clean, bright and spacious. I love how they have everything labeled. The beds are super comfortable and all of their linens seemed extra soft. Having a pool was a plus!
Extra services such as private yoga class and massage were a hit. I would definitely recommend Shawnee and Sebastian! Checking in and out was a breeze. My family and I didn’t want to leave. House is really well laid out, well-stocked and elegantly designed inside and outside. Really beautiful landscaping around entire property. Nice green lawn with fun cornhole set. You can do a walk/run from the house and then within minutes by car you have access to walking/hiking trails, shopping, and golf. The home itself has a resort vibe - well appointed - robes, cozy blankets, indoor and outdoor lounge areas, a workout/office space. Very comfortable for multiple guests with different needs. There really is no need to stay anywhere else.

Adrian was so responsive and made sure that our every need was met- even going out to fetch us bottled water after our instacart delivery came without them! The home was pristine and not a thing was out of place. The surrounding area is very peaceful and it really felt like our own little escape. Everything seemed like it was just freshly pampered and everything in the kitchen was spotless and basically brand new. From the second you turn onto the stunning canyon road...you know you must be in for a special treat and boy it sure was. You wind up the canyon road with extremely high end homes and a serene feel. The desert is just stunning. You turn into the drive and are just blown away how private peaceful and architecturally beautiful Kara's Sanctuary is. The native untouched desert blends seemlessly into the carefully thought out new landscaping. You can tell how much resources and care were used in making this approach spectacular and invoke an emotional response.
The home makes your jaw drop....the peacfulness make you want to grab a beverage go onto the patio and decompress. It is truly like a high end spa just waiting for you to use every inch of the space.
The ammenities and stocked home are to die for. High end products making you feel more special than a high end resort.
We use vacation rentals often as well as superhosts ourselves. Kara and Adrian were wonderful hosts.

The place is stunning. Spa-like comfort. We’ve stayed at Canyon Ranch and this offers all the scenery and luxury and fitness options but with the seclusion of our own canyon space.
The saguaros are amazing. Where else can you lounge in a soaking tub gazing at such a beautiful cactus!?! I wish I could have stayed longer!

My wife & I had an amazing stay at Saguaro Canyon! The house & setting is very special with desert & Mountain View’s from nearly every room. My wife especially loved the design & aesthetic of the house. You can tell it was done professionally. It’s in an AMAZING location close to hiking, restaurants, shopping, golf & only 15 min from the airport. The weather wasn’t quite warm enough to take advantage of the pool, outdoor kitchen & patios but we’ll definitely be back once it is!
